Inclusive Digital Growth Through Collaboration

In Africa, digital skills have traditionally been accessible primarily to larger corporate entities due to their financial capacity, leaving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at a disadvantage. However, the integration of advanced digital skills has the potential to transform sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, and services, enabling MSMEs to develop technology-driven business models that foster sustainable development across the continent.

Afretec recognizes the urgent need to democratize access to advanced digital skills for African MSMEs. To address this, Afretec has launched the Tech Skills Marketplace – MSME Internship Program. This initiative seeks to empower promising MSMEs in Africa by facilitating the hiring of skilled tech-student interns for a three-month period, either virtually or in person. In collaboration with Afretec Universities, this internship program has the potential to expand across Africa, offering MSMEs access to advanced digital skills that were previously financially out of reach.”
